The Challenge
The construction of an LNG terminal by FSRU GmbH, a joint venture between ENGIE and TES-H2, required top-notch engineering and project management services alongside comprehensive environmental assessments and regulatory approvals. Managing the potential impacts of dredging, noise, and marine disturbances posed significant challenges for permitting and environmental compliance.
The Solution
As Owner’s Engineer, Tractebel IMDC conducted all necessary studies for permitting, including detailed environmental assessments, field measurements, and sediment plume dispersion analysis. We implemented noise monitoring, quality control inspections, and on-site supervision to ensure adherence to environmental standards throughout construction.
The Impact
Our rigorous environmental monitoring and proactive management minimized marine ecosystem disruptions and ensured full compliance with regulatory requirements. This enabled the successful, responsible development of the LNG terminal while safeguarding the surrounding marine environment.
